Safari is the app you use to look at websites on your iPad. Here are some cool tricks to make it even better:

Organize Your Websites

Keep your websites sorted into groups - like having folders for research, meetings, national information and local stuff:

Making Website Groups

Tap the tabs button (looks like two squares) in the top-right corner
Tap the dropdown menu in the middle
Pick "New Empty Tab Group" or "New Tab Group from X Tabs"
Give your group a name like "Parish Stuff" or "Local Stuff" or something equally relevant

Using Your Website Groups

Switch between groups using the dropdown menu
Tap "Edit" to rename or delete groups
Open the sidebar to see all your groups at once
Move websites between groups by dragging them

Add Websites to Your Home Screen

Make Website Shortcuts - Tap the share button (square with arrow), then "Add to Home Screen" to put a website on your home screen like an app
Cool Website Icons - Many websites have nice icons that look like regular apps on your home screen
Open Sites Super Fast - Tap these icons to open websites without having to open Safari first
Full-Screen Websites - Many websites will open without all the Safari buttons when opened from your home screen

Cool Trick: Web Apps

Some websites can work just like regular apps when added to your home screen! They can even work without internet and send you messages. Look for "Add to Home Screen" messages when visiting websites.

Block Annoying Ads

Get Rid of Ads - Download ad blocker apps from the App Store
Turn On Ad Blockers - Go to Settings > Safari > Extensions > Content Blockers to turn them on
Choose Which Sites Get Blocked - Tap the "aA" button in the address bar to pick which websites can show ads
Make Websites Faster - Blocking ads makes websites load faster and uses less data!

More Safari Tricks

Easy Reading Mode

Tap the "aA" button in the address bar
Pick "Show Reader View" to make websites easy to read without ads
Change text size, font, and background color to what's comfortable for you
Make Reader View turn on automatically for websites you read often

Translate Websites

Tap the "aA" button in the address bar
Pick "Translate to [Your Language]" to change foreign websites to your language
